"This trip has been a truly wonderful experience for many reasons, ranging from the diversity of our participating group to the variety of places in which we worked and, most of all, to the cooperation we got from the local people.”
Mcolisi, Swaziland

WE SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECTS IN THIS PROGRAM?

KULE Foundation International has been involved with a village in Muranga on various community-based projects. Below are the main projects which we have been working on since the inception of the program. We integrate these projects with the Summer Program.

“The KULE program is a great opportunity to learn from a totally different community from the one I grew up in…and a chance to give back a little to the world. This program has been life-changing for me: there is a lot that I take for granted in my life…there is much joy in giving, even if it is time, energy… and love to the little orphans…”

OTHER PROJECTS

WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED (SO FAR) IN 2010.
All these projects are possible due to the initiative and hard work of summer program participants and the invaluable help from generous benefactors who provided assistance in so many ways. WE THANK YOU.

- Completed the long-overdue library building.

- Built a classroom for 5-8 year olds in Kibera slums. This is a new project, to be developed next year with at least another classroom.

- Provided two cows, Ms. KULE and Ms. HOPE for daily fresh milk supply for the Koimbi Orphanage.

- Expanded the chicken project at Koimbi.

- Started a water tank for Koimbi.

- Continued to supply food, clothing, shoes and basic supplies to Koimbi.

- Continued to teach at St. Anna’s Orphanage.

- Continued to actively engage in the daily life of the community members during the course of the Summer Program.

There is still so much need within the community and we hope to make a huge difference in the lives of the orphans and the poor community members through these simple life-changing projects.

“This experience made me happy to see that small projects and small gestures can make a big difference in someone’s life. This lesson does not only apply abroad; this awareness also makes “giving back” in my own home community much easier.”

"It was a great learning experience, with excellent community service opportunities…exposure to different cultures and you make awesome friends and contacts."

“The highlight for me was working together as a team and regaining hope and faith for the people. Kibera slums was probably the most inspiring experience for me. Everyone there had so much faith for something better even if their lives couldn’t get any worse. It was a real eye-opener and the work we did for them brought tremendous happiness to them and us.”
